Website owners are always looking for new keyword opportunities in their search data. A trending custom filter has been popping on Linkedln recently that can help you find extremely long search queries.

The technique

Here’s how to do this keyword research method:

Go into Google Search Console and click on the Performance report.

Then click Add Filter, select Query, and choose Custom (regex).

Enter this regex pattern: ^\S+(?:\s+\S+){9,}.*

This will show you what some people call extreme long-tail keywords – search queries with 10 or more words.

What this regex does

This pattern finds search queries that have 10 or more words in them. It looks for the first word, then counts 9 more word sequences after that, plus anything else that might follow.

You can choose a longer period (for example, the past 3 months) to get more ideas for SEO keywords.

You can use these queries to create new blog posts, FAQ sections, or detailed guides. You can also add the natural language patterns into your existing content and address the specific needs these detailed queries reveal.

Try it yourself

Use this filter on your Google Search Console data and see what patterns show up. Look for recurring themes, questions, or topics that could help with your content strategy.
