How it works
Assign tasks
Quick tasks – completed within 48 hours.
Includes most of your day to day tasks and content updates. For example changing product content, restructuring collections, fixing redirects, editing schema code.
Epic task – choose one per month.
These tasks take multiple members of our team to deliver and typically start with an auditing process to help us identify issues and then act upon them. Examples include a full technical SEO audit and fix up of your Shopify store. Or a pagespeed optimisation exercise – identifying storefront pages which are falling behind our benchmarks and working to improve them while maintaining the current content.
Throughout a year you may want to repeat these epic tasks, e.g. schedule a pagespeed optimisation every six months. These epic tasks keep your Shopify store running smoothly and will be linked closely to performance metrics that we’ll monitor and report on about your store.
Epic tasks include:
- Core Web Vitals auditing and performance improvement.
- Technical SEO audits and fixes.
- GA4 Audits and fixes.
- Google Tag Manager audit and fixes.
- Accessibility auditing and fixes.
Get task updates by email
We’ll communicate your task status by email. We’ll also use screen recordings to help demonstrate how our fixes or updates have improved your store, or will make guidance on any new features in case you or your team would like to use them in the future. You’ll also have access to your private task board where you can view what’s planned, what’s in progress and what’s been completed.
Proactive monitoring and suggestions
We’ll run continuous monitoring on your Shopify store using our suite of premium tools. Our team will analyse the results and will highlight areas where improvement could help you deliver a better shopping experience, or help you perform better in search engines.
How it helps you be efficient:
Save on labour costs
Our team are experts in everything Shopify. It’s what we do, day-in day-out. Our efficiency can’t be beaten – just assign to us, strike off your to-do list and free up your mind to focus on the bigger picture. It’s like having access to an expert developer, website editor and Shopify consultant all in one – for a fraction of just one person’s salary – the value cannot be beaten.
Get technical assistance on-hand when you need it
Don’t waste time digging through help articles, trawling through Shopify support forums with conflicting advice, or waiting on Shopify support teams to get back to you with a dead-end answer. Get solutions on speed-dial, and then action.
Security and maintenance
The e-commerce landscape changes often – and there’s often many smaller moving parts involved. Keeping up with it all is a job on its own. Leave it to us, we’ll be keeping a close watch on your Shopify store.
Keep up with change
When you don’t keep up, your store falls behind. The details count especially in a competitive market – will customers trust your store when it doesn’t look pixel perfect? – how many sales are you missing because your store isn’t quite fast enough? Outsource the problem of staying up to date to us, we’ll work proactively to improve your store’s performance and keep your code maintained.

What’s not included:
Design Work. If creating new components or arranging new content our team will work closely within your brand guidelines, or will base new content on the existing theme of your store. This is often the most efficient way to code the project due to the way that CSS styling works on the web.
If you require a designer to draft UI/UX for your store or for new components you are welcome to either: work with one of our designers for an extra fee on a project by project basis or bring your own designer and provide mock-ups to our team as Figma files.
Our team is also adept at working from rough wireframes created in Google Docs or Canva – we’re happy to work with you in a way that fits in your current workflow and design expectations.

Work on any other store or domain. Any other domain or website will require a separate agreement or add-on.
Custom app development. Custom Shopify app development is not included. For most client cases this is rarely required as the off-the-shelf features of Shopify can be leveraged with our technical know-how to achieve our goals without the use of an app. In other situations we may recommend some paid apps to help you reach your goals.

FAQS about Shopify Retainer Package
In our experience, this rarely happens. There’s always changes to react to or a higher standard to aspire to. If at some point you’re not sure what to brief our team will scan your store for opportunities, everything from designs that are a few pixels off, to adding alt tags to images. We’ll make suggestions and then you’ll get to approve them.
Even when we’re not assigned to anything in particular, our team will be keeping track of your store and ensuring it meets performance, technical SEO and accessibility standards.
We can do this but it’s not included in the retainer service. There will be a separate fee and a separate timeline depending on the complexity of your project and our current booking availability.
In the event of national holidays, training days or sickness we’ll make arrangements to communicate with the client and will plan resources around these dates in order to maintain a good pace of delivery. Similarly we will be understanding if briefs for current tasks or required feedback to continue developing current tasks are delayed by holidays, training days or sickness on the client’s side.
Unlimited service contracts run for 12 months. You’ll be billed at the start of each month. If you’d prefer to simplify into one payment please speak with our team.
The minimum term for an unlimited plan is 12 months. Unlimited plans renew in 12 month periods.
